SPCA JUMBLE SALE – 29 April 2007
today was possibly only the 3rd or 4th time ive actually been inside SPCA and it broke my heart just being there. in the span of only a year the number of dogs and cats there have risen by at least 50% or perhaps even more. In the past there were mostly only dogs there but now there ate like 50-100 puppies there as well each being stuck in small cages dued to the lack of space.
their faces looked so sad and their cries. I SWEAR i wanted to just sit there and cry. what annoyed me more was the people who actually showed up for the sale. things went fast. true. BUT. all these people cared about was getting a bargain… not the animals. even 1 ringgit they complained. 1 ringgit for an item costing about 20 bucks and still they complained saying that they’ve already bought so many and they should be given it free. What the fuck do they think this is? some charity sale because we’re too fucking rich and we want to throw money? THE WHOLE FUCKING POINT OF THIS SALE IS TO RAISE MONEY TO HELP THE ANIMALS.
there was this woman that really left me stunned. she kept stroking me and saying she wanted the 3 items for 3 bucks. i said 5. she refused. i said 4. and she kept insisting 3. so i said no then. im sorry i cant sell it to you. then she said ok la ok la. empat la empat la. she held the things. went to the fucking back of my counter. took a plastic bag. put it in. took her wallet out. gave me 3. started stroking my hands again saying shes soooo sorry she has no money and just walked off. if i had been in a bad mood i would have slapped her right there on the fucking spot.
you want free stuff. go to the fucking dumpster and dig out people’s trash okay. if it’s too expensive for you then don’t fucking buy it. the 3 items were just decoration items and it wasnt exactly something she needed anyway so whats the whole big fucking deal about being broke and shit. fuck you okay. if you even come across my blog somehow but i doubt it because i doubt you would even understand what im saying. FUCK YOU.
but a huge thank you to everyone who paid more than they should have and donated money to the shelter today =) it definitely made my day.
another thing that really hurt me today was watching people abandon their pets. i know it happens a lot but IVE NEVER ACTUALLY seen it being done. and today i watched 2 cats and a PURE BRED golden retriever puppy get abandon by their owners. all i could do was stand there in a stoned manner and watch. and when i turned to look at the poor pup sitting in the cage staring out. it hurt. really it did.
can u imagine taking your dog out for a walk. and you know how dogs love being walked so they think it’s just another car ride or a walk. wagging their tails. greeting you.licking you. just being happy. when all of a sudden their in a cage. stuck inside. as you walk away from them never turning back. and the pup thinks maybe it’s just being left in the cage for a while like at home when he’s been naughty or there are guest in the house. EXCEPT this time… hours pass by… hours slowly turn into days.. and these days eventually turn into months. sometimes…these months move so slowly and they are just left there until 1 day. new space is needed and what choice is there.
these poor abandon dogs and cats are put to sleep. KILLED. why? because of the previous owners irresponsibility. think of them as children. they aren’t really much different. so why? if you dont fucking care for them. WHY THE FUCKING HELL do you even bother getting one? they aren’t babies. ACCIDENTS don’t just fucking happen okay. you dont have sex and opps. im pregnant. so why get a pet when you’re just going to leave it and let it die?
people. do give SPCA a visit and adopt their pets. they may not be pure breds but what would it matter. they are just as affectionate and as adorable. really. smarter too for that matter and a whole lot cheaper.
many may ask if we keep adopting abandoned pets then what happenes to those from breeders and pet shops. well the thing is. when less people buy them. less of them will be bred. you have no idea how these puppies are bred. some of them. the conditions are just so fucking bad. that you would be shocked to know that your pup came from such a place. but thats a story for another time. =)

albino!! hehe. this is a very rare dog. because it only happens like one in a thousand. both parents are normal coloures and so are all its siblings. only 1 pure white one.

ok..so after SPCA i headed over to KL convention centre to surprise the boy.
and look! her tag is still on. and my ears are still on!! SPCA SUPPORTERS YO!
being pengacau by helping them hand out flyers. whahahahaha.ok la. end of post.
SO REMEMBER TO ADOPT A PET IN SPCA OR GIVE YOUR SUPPORT TO THEM BY DONATING OR VOLUNTEERING! or you can even foster a pet for a few days.
the programme works like this. some puppies or dogs are too young or too sick to be kept in the shelter so they are given to foster parents until they are well and old enough and then returned to the shelter so they are healthy and ready for adoption =) if you cant keep a pet permanantly but love animals. this is the way to go! just drop me a comment for more information.
