Here’s how I got to post here

Gin: You very free and bored right?

Me: Yes but going to sleep soon.

Gin: NO! Write my blog for me.! ANYTHING!

Me: *hesitated* *stops for 2 mins* okay.

Short intro of me, born and raised in KL, went to KDU and then furthered my studies in Switzerland where i finished BA. Now I’m working in Singapore!. Well i guess it’s okay for me to say that I had more exposure working here than my home country. Seriously. Anyways, after BA you can throw it aside because its only your ticket to getting your first job. The rest in my industry is all about the experience haha.!

So i landed my first job as a butler in a casino hotel. Sounds like a shitty job but in fact its pretty interesting because its not an ordinary hotel but a fast paced one since everything’s about gambling. Money in and out most of the time. Why butler? because I personally think that it’s a challenging job, fast paced, spontaneous, and also just wanting to make people happy. An example of a regular role of butler:  hey you!! go and buy me stuff.. hands us the list and we get it done.

After joining in for a month I came to realized that the job is not only to fulfill the wishes of our guests but also to make 1 step ahead. To go the extra mile. In service line, I’m sure this is pretty common but what’s the thing here is that we are free to use our creativity to go all out to take the 1 step ahead. Sounds pretty cool huh, actually it’s okay for a first time guest but not returning ones because you have to really scratch your head to think of something else to WOW them. Oh well, back to the drawing board again. And that’s how my everyday job goes by.

Now, here’s the thing. Everybody’s been asking me, so have you met any challenging people yet. I tell them everyday, we have high rollers, VVIP’s, just plain nothing to do and born rich people, and of course the singaporeans =). Please do take note we also have CHEAPOS! (Those that takes whatever’s free and chunk it in their suitcase and brings it home). Well, everyone of them poses different kind of challenges such as the speed of getting the food from 1st floor to 50th floor perhaps. Actually not just food, just about everything and anything requested will be done. Tough job.. I know but it’s fun. The end product is that we delivered good service and the guests leaves with a big…. =)! or even =D! hopefully not =/ or =(. Then we’ll get shot haha.

Another thing is the amount of tips. Obviously this information cannot be disclosed haha but I can only say this. Come and visit me and perhaps I’ll tell you =). I can’t disclose the place which I am working in as well but I will give you a hint at the end which is pretty obvious to everyone. Hopefully in time to come when I’m dead free and Ms.Ginny is around I could write another cover on myself.

So! If you’re very free, and don’t mind spending at least 3,000 SGD a night here please come by!.

I lay there in the dim room, a smile etched across my face as the calming words of a mantra swirled around my head. For that little while, we were all silent. Focused only on the music and our very own breathing.

Halfway through I felt something damp as visions of a past presence invaded my thoughts and sight. With my eyes closed, the playback felt even more real than I had ever remembered. From the beginning till the end, the timeline of the most critical images flashed mercilessly as I continued to cry.

“Stop it!” I told myself. I wasn’t alone in the room, when the lights come on everyone would be able to see my tear stained face. Yet the more I willed the memories to stop, the clearer they became and the more it stung.

I don’t remember how long ago it’s been since you left but till this day my heart still weeps at the very sight or reminder of my “baby boy.” I miss you gizmo. I miss you so much more than anyone would ever know.

I love you.

Being out of the party scene for quite a while now, me thinks perhaps that it’s time I make a flashy little comeback no?

Time for me to get back into the glitz and glam of the hottest events and get back that confidence and courage like those displayed by the crazy adrenaline junkies of the VMM team! It’s definitely time I got off my lazy ass and make this year a worthwhile one! Afterall, everyones gotta Keep Walking and I’m gonna do just that. No more hiding out at home, it’s time to be inspired and restart my life with good friends, laughter and that deliciously warm glass of Johnnie Walker whisky i grew to know and love.

It’s crazy how an FI driver can juggle their work and play. All that energy really does work well with the cliche saying of “Work hard play hard!” and I’m definitely in need of a little of all that high-flying lifestyle right now.

Memories made in the past of crazy night outs with bottles and bottles of whisky is truly irreplaceable and it’s time to make some more. =)

Can’t wait to party hard with superstar-mixer DJ Enferno (East Coast), hottie DJ Sophia Lin and the adorable DJ I-Tek this April 2011!
